In news that really should surprise no-one, it’s known that throughout the course of this year, Motorola will be making in the region of 4,000 layoffs - again, no surprised for this - the company’s handset division will take the brunt of the layoffs - which should total around 3,000 layoffs alone. What with Motorola recently saying they want to mainly focus on Google’s Android OS in their devices, and expanding their Android team -it’s wise to assume the Windows Mobile and Symbian team will be left with fewer employees. LG are apparently preparing a high-end music handset - the KM900. It joins the company’s other music-focused handsets - the KM380, and KM710, but will be a more feature-rich handset. Whilst technical specifications are sparse at the minute, and only mockups of the phone are available, it’s possible that LG will present the KM900 at the Mobile World Congress, to be held between the dates of the 16th-19th of next month, in Barcelona, Spain. Technical specifications should include:
- Display: 200 x 400 pixels, may be touch-sensitive
- Extras: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
